Morgan D. Stanley

2024-2025 SGA Vice President Candidate

My name is Morgan Dewayne Stanley. I am a sophomore biology major with a minor in public policy administration. As for organizations, I am a part of many organizations and wear multiple hats. I am currently serving in my second term as class vice president. In this role, I chair the class planning committee which plans the class events and initiatives. Outside of SGA, I work at the college under Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Social Justice and Strategic Initiatives, and Institutional Advancement. Under Student Affairs, I work as a residential assistant in the Office of Residential Life for the AA Branch Dormitory. Under Academic Affairs, I work as a supplemental instructor and peer tutor in the Office of Student Retention. Under Social Justice and Strategic Initiatives, I work under several programs. I worked as a summer fellow for the Bennie G. Thompson Delta Leadership Program to conduct county assessments in Sunflower County.  I work with the Eric H. Holder Public Policy Program under the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy Food Is Medicine Project, where I am responsible for participating in community engagement at the Bolivar Medical Center as well as policy work to get fresh produce to be paid the same way as prescription drugs. Also, in the office of Career Services, I am a student in their Leadership Institute where I am granted the opportunity to several career opportunities. As of now, I am a CVD Fellow with the Association of Public Health Nutritionists. My research focuses primarily on Cardiovascular in Southern Black Colleges. As for social organizations, I am a member of the Tougaloo College Pre-Health Club, Collegiate 100, Tougaloo Ambassadors for Meritorious Scholars, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Reuben V. Anderon Pre-Law and Policy Society.
